CPALead is a great method to monetize certain websites; I have already demonstrated how it can improve a websites revenue stream by over 500% in Why use CPALead? and CPALead Revisited. Unfortunately, some people just do not know how or when to implement CPALead properly. You can not just put it on any website and hope for the best; it just does not work that way. CPALead is only effective at monetizing specific niches. If you put a gateway on any old website, you are just going to piss off your visitors, not make any money, and overall just be a failure. So some niches that you can use CPALead on properly to monetize are the following:

Torrents

Download popular trail / cracked software or movies. Add these files to a password protected zip file; then, add this password protected zip file to another, non-password protected, zip file with a readme.txt in it. In the readme.txt file of the torrent, instruct the user to go to a website in order to get the password to the zip file. The user will be forced to complete a survey on your website, if they want to gain access to the content of the password protected file.

TV / Movie Streaming

Making a TV / movie streaming website is quite simple, but making it become popular or have substantial traffic is a whole different matter. If you are knowledgeable with SEO and/or have the resources, then getting a website to have a few thousand visitors a day from search engines is a cakewalk. Most people can not do this, and then come to the conclusion that CPALead sucks – They could not be further from the truth. Before you come to such a conclusion, become knowledgeable or use the following second tier methods. Create video trailers (with your website url in he corner) and upload them to YouTube, repeat this process until you have carpal tunnel syndrome or are satisfied with your profits. This method is very spammy and black hatish. Thus I would not recommend it, but if you can not do SEO, you get suck with these second tier shit methods that still work. Another option is to simply spam TV / movie linking websites (SideReel, TVDuck, Yidio, etc.) with your urls when you do not have CPALead on them. After all of your links have been approved, then you can add the CPALead gateway onto your website. Your links will slowly be reported and removed; your website will likely eventually become banned as well. So repeat this process with new websites until you have carpel tunnel syndrome or are satisfied with your profits. My suggestion to you is that you avoid these second tier shit methods that work at all costs, instead learn SEO and steer clear of the black hat arena.

eBooks

Gather eBooks from whatever resources you have available. You can acquire eBooks from a variety of sources: free download (on forums), buy, or write them yourself. Promote these Ebooks with SEO (you really ought to learn this already), social media linking, comments on blogs, forum posts, etc. Require the user to complete a survey or offer prior to giving them access to their desired eBook.

Coupons / Vouchers / Authentication Codes / Software

Create a website with coupons, vouchers, or authentication codes for a variety of products; continue to add different ones until you have carpel tunnel syndrome. Find a method of driving traffic to your website – same concept as with eBooks. To add on to that, another means of driving traffic is going directly to the source. For example, I have seen people that will post / spam their link in online MMORPG’s, such as RuneScape, for free bot software. Interested users will go to the website expecting a free download, but they will be required to complete a CPALead offer first. Having something that your visitors want and need, but making them complete an offer first is quite effective; this can be applied to many things – think outside the box.

FaceBook Applications

FaceBook Applications are a complete waste of time, yet people still continue to play them and send constant annoying invitations about them to their friends. I hate FaceBook apps almost as much as I despise Twitter, but that does not mean that I will not try to make money off of it. The user base of FaceBook apps is enormous; once an app goes viral, the cash will really flow in. Designing a FaceBook app can be semi-expensive ($500-1,000). After you have an application, the trick is not just hoping it become viral, but making it do so. Note that this costs money, but proper marketing and campaigns can be utilized, so that your app spreads like a virus and gets the push it needs to become viral. FaceBook apps will by far be the most profitable to use in conjunction with CPALead. However, they will also require the most initial investment to get them started.

All these methods can generate massive amount of money, some touch into the black hat area, others are more legitimate. Whatever method you choose to use, do not complain CPALead does not make money – You are completely wrong. If this is the case, try a different approach or an all together different method. Be persistent because most of these methods require tedious work that needs to be repeated over and over. I am sorry that making money might bore some of you, but that’s why acquiring effective traffic driving methods is extremely important. I would appreciate it if you use my CPALead referral code, as you lose nothing and I gain 5% of your earnings, otherwise CPALead just pockets it.

Dollarade is a CPALead like company that employs a slightly different method for users to complete surveys or offers. The benefit of Dollarade’s gateway is that it only covers the Flash content of your website; this is perfect for tv or movie streaming websites. It allows your visitors to navigate around your website; they can actually see your content without needing to complete a survey. Additionally, the Dollarade gateway will tend to get a higher conversion ratio for the same survey because the user will know that a working video exists on your webpage; whereas with CPALead, they may see a video under your gateway, but they do not know that it works. I have previously compared CPALead revenue against CPM and popup revenue on the same website; the results were an over 500% increase in revenue when CPALead was implemented. I have done a similar comparison of CPALead against Dollarade on the same website:

Period

Revenue

6.71

1,449.24

193,610

21

7.49

4,003.38

426,910

19

9.38

Season Started

October 2009

3,866.42

410,275

16

9.42

Cumulative 2009

10,348.02

1,184,200

18

8.74

CPALead Average

November 2009

795.84

20

9.02

Dollarade
implemented

It is interesting to see that Dollarade ended up generated better revenue overall due to a higher conversion ratio; it is likely that this is because Dollarade uses a slightly different method than CPALead to encourage users to complete offers. Please note that even though Dollarade did generate more revenue per thousand visitors, it was only a slight increase; you should experiment between these two networks yourself to see if your results vary. Also, Dollarade’s greatest strength (only covering Flash content) is also its weakness. If you have a movie or tv streaming website with links to other sources (Supernova, WiseVid, etc.), your visitors will simply be able to click on these links without completing a survey offer. You may need to rework part of your website, so that you are able to implement Dollarade to its full capacity.

Not only does the addition of CPA advertising dramatically increase the website’s profit, but the average CPM increases substantially. Instead of making ~$1.18 / 1,000 page views, this website is making $7.30 / 1,000 page views. This means that when this tv series starts up again with their new season I will be earning thousands of dollars per month instead of hundreds per month. Over a 500% increase in profit margin can be seen after the implementation of CPALead on this website. Note that the profit from CPA ads is a lot bouncier and more variable on a daily basis compared to CPM ads; this website earned anywhere from $20 to $75 from CPALead depending on the day. Acknowledge that daily profits may be more variable when using CPA ads, but for this website average profit saw a considerable increase. Does this mean that you should use CPALead on all of your websites? Absolutely not; CPALead works fantastic on some websites, but on others it may even drop your net profit and CPM. If you do plan on implementing CPALead or other CPA advertising methods, I strongly encourage you to track your CPM and profit over the period of a week or month, so that you can see if CPALead (You loss nothing by signing up under my referral code) is the right thing for your website.

One of the commonly used CPA advertisers today is CPALead (You loss nothing by signing up under my referral code). Some people use the CPALead gateway on their sites that basically make users work to gain access to their premium content; we have discussed specific methods of utilizing CPALead in a variety of niches. Pages can be inaccessible with the addition of CPALead until a visitor completes a survey. These completely surveys pay the affiliate (the website owner) amounts that range from $0.18-$15+ depending on which survey is completed. Most of the surveys that pay over $1 require the user to sign up for something and pay some money up front, so generally these are much less likely to be completed. This basically means that you will earn an average of $0.50 for each user that completes the survey. Unfortunately only a few websites can employ CPA advertising effectively. In general though, forcing users to complete CPA surveys through CPALead will drive some visitors away, but it can be much more profitable than CPC, CPM, popups, or popunders when it comes to advertising. Some niches that can effectively employ CPALead are incentive websites that gives users access to premium content, streaming tv episodes, or even websites that pay the users part of amount that they make from each survey. CPA advertising with the CPALead gateway can definitely not be used in most niches, but it can be successfully utilized in a few specific niches. If your website seems like a potential user of CPALead, I encourage you to sign up, but monitor your traffic statistics and your revenue to ensure that it is actually generating more revenue. In our CPALead Revisited post, we do exactly this and compare our earning prior to using the CPALead gateway and after it was implemented.

CPA (Cost Per Action) is when the publisher of the ad is only paid when the user clicks on the ad and preforms the desired action by the advertiser, which can be anything from purchasing a products to filling out a sign up to a newsletter. CPA ensures that the advertiser get the visitor to their final destination, whereas CPC only ensures that the visitor clicks on the ad. This means that CPA conversion rates will be much less than CPC conversion rates. In this manner CPA advertising is quite beneficial to advertisers because they are guaranteed that a visitor will end at their goal, otherwise no money is paid to the publisher.

With CPA advertising using Google’s Adsense (it is referred to as Referrals), you can actually choose which ads you want to be shown on your website. This means that you are able to select ads that are relevant to your visitors and pick the ones with the highest CPA values. CPA rates range from $0.01 to $153.85. CPA looks like it could be a much better choice than CPC because the higher revenue value and the ability to select what ads you show on your site; however, how much money will you really make with it?

Let’s say that your CTR (Click Through Rate) is ~5% for targeted ad on your website and that your CPC rate is ~$3.00. This means that you will be making ~$150.00 per 1,000 visitors. Now let’s say that you decide to use CPA advertising and that your CTR remains the same. Out of these visitors that click on the ad, how many of them will proceed to do the required action? Let’s assume that 10% of these visitors that click on the ad actually do the specified action. This means that you would need a CPA rate of ~$30.00 to make the same that you do with CPC advertising. In reality the rates of CPA ads are ranges or a low fixed value; for instance, Free File Hosting: $0.23 – 1.19, HDMI Cables: $2.31, or Pay per Click Management: $3.00 – 153.85. This means that unless the majority of your user’s are ending up on the high side of these rates, that CPC advertising will be the better choice for your website. Also, it may be beneficial to use CPAlead instead of Google’s Referrals depending on your websites structure. You really need to experience and look at the logistics before jumping to a conclusion about what advertsing method to useas they all can be used to generate more revenue in certain situations.
